Tashkent: Construction work on the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars project is in its final stage, and it is planned to be fully commissioned by the end of this year, said Georgian Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili during her speech at the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor Investors’ Forum held in Tashkent, APA’s local bureau reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the minister stated that the project will ensure regular and efficient communication between Georgia, Azerbaijan, and Trkiye, as well as along the entire corridor. The Baku-Tbilisi-Kars line is expected to significantly enhance the transportation infrastructure in the region, fostering improved economic ties and facilitating easier movement of goods and people among the three nations.

The Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line is a strategic initiative that aims to strengthen connectivity and trade routes between Asia and Europe. By becoming operational by the end of the year, it is anticipated that the line will play a crucial role in the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, offering a new corridor for trade and transit that bypasses traditional routes, thus reducing travel time and costs.
