Georgia to Import Electricity Directly from Azerbaijan

Baku:Georgia will import electricity directly from Azerbaijan without utilizing an intermediary company, as announced by Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze during a government meeting.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, Kobakhidze highlighted that the plan does not include using intermediary companies for electricity imports in the future. This strategy is expected to result in significant savings for the state.

Kobakhidze stated that eliminating intermediaries in electricity imports, particularly from Azerbaijan, will save the state several million lari annually. This change marks a shift in Georgia's approach to energy imports, focusing on direct transactions to enhance cost efficiency.
