Georgian Deputy Minister Highlights Strategic Importance of Baku-Tbilisi-Kars Railway

Tbilisi: Georgian Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Tamar Ioseliani, emphasized the strategic significance of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway, describing its full commissioning as a historic milestone. This project, achieved through the collaboration of Georgia, Azerbaijan, and Trkiye, represents a crucial addition to the regional transport infrastructure.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Ioseliani highlighted the introduction of a modern railway line that enhances connectivity between Europe and Asia. The initiative is expected to open new avenues for trade and economic cooperation, thereby improving the quality of cargo transportation services in the region and bolstering Georgia's role in the Middle Corridor.

Ioseliani further articulated that the Middle Corridor is now recognized as a route of international importance, gaining substantial relevance in recent years.
