Tbilisi: 'The state visit of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to Georgia once again confirms that Azerbaijan-Georgia relations have always been a pillar of stability, peace and effective cooperation in the South Caucasus,' Georgian expert Viktor Kipiani told journalists.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Viktor Kipiani emphasized that the world is changing and new trends are emerging, particularly from a regional perspective. He highlighted the necessity of discussing how the partnership between Azerbaijan and Georgia can evolve to become more competitive, stronger, and modern. These discussions are anticipated to take place during President Aliyev's visit.

Kipiani noted the importance of several emerging trends in the creation of collective security systems. He stressed that multilateral relations in security are crucial, with the regional context, especially the trilateral format between Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Trkiye, gaining increased relevance. Kipiani urged Georgia to take more active steps to adapt to these processes. He underscored that Azerbaijan-Georgia relations benefit from a shared historical past and emotional bond, allowing both nations to understand each other more deeply and address common challenges faced by smaller states. Azerbaijan's position as a middle-power state, as repeatedly stated by President Aliyev, is a significant aspect of this relationship.
