Tbilisi: Georgian Railways' collaboration with Azerbaijan is significantly enhancing the Middle Corridor as a viable alternative for global trade.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Middle Corridor is gaining prominence due to active cooperation with Azerbaijan, Central Asian countries, and China. This development was highlighted during the presentation of a modernization project by Georgian Railway JSC.
The modernization project has facilitated successful negotiations with China, Kazakhstan, and Azerbaijan, leading to digitalized services and a substantial reduction in border procedure times, from 15 hours to 2 hours. The report also pointed out that recent global events have highlighted the fragility of traditional trade routes, underscoring the importance of establishing new reliable corridors like the Middle Corridor.
