BERLIN: The German Association of Small and Medium-Sized Businesses (BVMW) is reportedly in discussions to establish its presence in Tajikistan by opening an office, seeking to enhance its international footprint and support its members operating in the region.

According to Trend News Agency, a source from BVMW revealed the ongoing talks with local stakeholders in Tajikistan aimed at finding a suitable representative to establish a BVMW office. “We currently have over 80 international offices worldwide, though none in Tajikistan at this time. However, we are in ongoing discussions with stakeholders in Tajikistan to find a suitable representative, and we are hopeful that we will establish a BVMW office in Tajikistan in the near future,” the source stated.

The move is part of BVMW’s strategic expansion to support its member companies that already have business operations in Tajikistan. The association recently organized an online event linked to the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with TajInvest, whi
ch saw participation from several BVMW companies active in Tajikistan. This indicates a growing interest and foothold in the Tajik market among BVMW’s members.

Further highlighting the association’s role in international labor dynamics, the source mentioned Janser Consult, a BVMW member company, which is actively engaged in sourcing skilled workers from Central Asia for the German labor market, including Tajikistan. This reflects BVMW’s broader role in facilitating international business and labor exchange.

The German Association of Small and Medium-Sized Businesses represents a wide range of industries and thousands of members, primarily focusing on supporting small and medium-sized enterprises within Germany. While most members concentrate on domestic operations due to the risks associated with international markets, BVMW also supports larger SMEs that possess the expertise and resources to engage internationally.
