Baku:Azerbaijan's Ministry of Justice has successfully coordinated the extradition of Elmir Elkhan oglu Nuriyev from Germany to Azerbaijan. Nuriyev, an Azerbaijani citizen, was wanted internationally for fraud charges. The extradition was completed on November 6.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, Nuriyev was accused of committing fraud in 2021 by deceiving victims with false promises of apartment renovations, causing significant financial losses. He was located and arrested in Germany following efforts by the National Central Bureau of Interpol in Azerbaijan.

The extradition process involved a request from Azerbaijan's Prosecutor General's Office and assurances from the Ministry of Justice, culminating in an agreement with German authorities. Nuriyev was transferred to Azerbaijan by Ministry of Justice officials and is currently in a pre-trial detention facility under a court order.
