Germany’s gas storage capacity exceeds 81%

The filling level of gas storage facilities in Germany has exceeded 81%, the daily report of the country’s Federal Network Agency. “Injection of gas (into gas storages) continues. The total level of occupancy of gas storages is 81.28%,” the report says. It is noted that over the past day, gas storage facilities have replenished by 0.21 percentage points. The regulator emphasizes that Germany’s largest underground storage facility, Rehden, which previously belonged to Gazprom through its subsidiaries and in which gas was less than 1% of the volume in April, is currently filled by 63.41%.

At the moment, adds the Federal Network Agency of Germany, gas supplies to the country are stable. The flow of gas from Nord Stream is currently about 20% of the maximum capacity.

Germany has previously adopted legislative amendments that oblige gas storage operators to fill them by October by 85%, and by November – by 95%.
