Grape and Wine Festival Opens in Azerbaijan’s Shamakhi District


BAKU – The Grape and Wine Festival has begun in Meysari village, located in Azerbaijan’s Shamakhi district, Trend reports. Organized by the State Tourism Agency and the executive authority of the Shamakhi district, the two-day event aims to celebrate Azerbaijan’s wine-making traditions and features a wide range of activities.



According to Trend News Agency, the festival was inaugurated with the participation of prominent figures including Anar Alakbarov, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Executive Director of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, as well as State Tourism Agency Chairman Fuad Nagiyev. Numerous local and international guests are attending the festivities.



Musical performances will be held throughout the festival, including sets by Azerbaijani stars like Aygun Kazimova and Azad Shabanov, along with international acts such as Cuban performer Edglis Hale and the popular Georgian Niko’s Band. Interactive zones for wine tasting, entertainment, food, and master classes, including painting with wine, are also part of the event. The festival will continue with open-air film screenings and other attractions.
