Guba: A regional meeting took place in Guba, bringing together officials and stakeholders from the Absheron-Khizi and Guba-Khachmaz economic regions to discuss the "State Program for the Development of Agricultural, Fisheries, and Aquaculture Production and Processing Sectors in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2026-2030." This program was recently approved by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the event gathered heads of relevant state bodies, farmers, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders from various districts, including Absheron, Khizi, Guba, Gusar, Siyazan, and Shabran. Zeynal Naghdaliyev, Assistant to the President and Head of the Department for Territorial and Organizational Issues of the Presidential Administration, addressed the meeting. He outlined the President's priorities for agricultural development, emphasizing the goals of the State Program, such as higher productivity and greater self-sufficiency.

Seymur Safarli, Deputy Minister of Agriculture, discussed new farmer support measures under the State Program. These include the introduction of modern technologies and expanded infrastructure for irrigation, machinery, storage, and financing in sectors like wheat production, horticulture, and livestock farming.

Zaur Mikayilov, Chairman of the Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency, highlighted the importance of efficient water management, noting the ongoing irrigation modernization projects. He emphasized that improving water-use efficiency and reducing water losses are priorities of the Program.

Ilgar Mahmudov, Head of the Guba District Executive Authority, focused on Guba's agricultural potential, particularly in fruit-growing, horticulture, and livestock farming. An action plan has been developed to implement the State Program in the district, with efforts to improve workforce training and utilize local resources effectively.

Farmers and entrepreneurs expressed gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev for his support of the agricultural sector. They emphasized that the State Program would help expand production, boost entrepreneurship, and strengthen food security.

Zeynal Naghdaliyev concluded the meeting by instructing authorities to ensure the timely and effective implementation of the State Program, enhance inter-agency coordination, and promptly execute assigned tasks, assuring that all proposals would be considered during the implementation process.
