Hail in Aghdam, snow in Crimea, squall wind blows in Baku

Windy weather in Azerbaijan will continue until the afternoon of May 8, precipitation will stop by the end of the first decade of the month. This was announced by the head of the National Hydrometeorological Service of Azerbaijan Umayra Taghiyeva on Saturday.

According to her, some regions of the country will face precipitation in the form of rain, hail, and snow in some mountainous areas. At the same time in Kryz (Greater Caucasus) the thickness of snow cover reache 1 m.

In the village of Guzanly, Agdam region, 0,5 cm hail has fallen.

Strong northwest winds will be prevalent throughout the country with winds of 21 m/sec in Naftalan, 17 m/sec in Sabirabad, 16 m/sec in Bilasuvar and Shabran.

At the same time the strongest winds are observed in the capital region. Thus, the wind force reach 35 m/sec in Baku and suburban Mashtaga settlement, 25 m/sec in Bina and Pirallahi island, 24 m/sec at the Oil Rocks.

Wave height in the sea near the Oil Rocks reaches 5.2m.

According to Taghiyeva, the windy weather in Azerbaijan will last until the afternoon of May 8, precipitation will stop by the end of the first decade of the month.
