Ankara: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has expressed strong condemnation over the recent increase in attacks targeting ships in the Black Sea, amidst the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Speaking at a joint press conference with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, Fidan emphasized Turkey's efforts to keep the conflict away from the Black Sea.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Fidan highlighted that the attacks have resulted in the deaths of Azerbaijani and Turkish sailors. He stated that the continuation of such incidents is unacceptable and noted that Turkey is issuing necessary warnings to the involved parties. Fidan reiterated Turkey's commitment to maintaining communications aimed at achieving peace in the Russia-Ukraine conflict, stressing, "Even the worst peace is better than war."
