Baku:The number of people waiting for heart transplants in Azerbaijan is notably high, according to Ahliman Amiraslanov, Chairman of the Health Committee of Azerbaijan's Milli Majlis. He made this announcement at a conference organized as part of the "Heart Transplantation Week," as reported by APA.
According to Azeri-Press news agency, Amiraslanov highlighted the progress Azerbaijan has made in organ transplantation since the country gained independence. He pointed out the increase in healthcare spending in the new state budget, with approximately 2 billion 100 million manats allocated for healthcare expenditures. This figure rises significantly when compulsory health insurance expenditures are included.
Amiraslanov also mentioned that healthcare expenditures have increased from approximately 800 million manats in previous years to around 4 billion manats currently. He expressed optimism that bringing the management of the healthcare system under the Ministry of Health would lead to more efficient use of funds across various sectors, including organ transplantation.
