Baku: Azerbaijan's participation in the 7 billion USD financial initiative for Gaza is not currently planned. Hikmat Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, expressed this position on his X platform.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Hajiyev emphasized Azerbaijan's commitment as a founding member state to support the goals and objectives of the Board of Peace. He indicated that while future involvement in investment projects in Gaza through the Board of Peace might be considered, the specific 7 billion USD initiative discussed at the Board of Peace meeting is not part of Azerbaijan's current agenda.
Hajiyev's statements aim to clarify Azerbaijan's position regarding its role and potential future actions concerning investment projects in Gaza. He highlighted that while Azerbaijan remains supportive of the Board of Peace's broader objectives, direct participation in the announced financial initiative is not envisaged at this time.
