Hikmet Hajiyev Highlights Azerbaijan’s Commitment to Regional Peace Agenda

Baku: Azerbaijan is actively pursuing a peace-focused agenda in the region, as highlighted by Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department. During the 'South Caucasus: A Strategic Hub in the Making' event as part of ADF2026, Hajiyev emphasized the nation's shift from a conflict-centric approach to one of peace. He stated that Azerbaijan is taking concrete steps to foster peace and build trust with Armenia.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Hajiyev noted the beginning of trade relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan as evidence of progress. He also mentioned the development of a new regional security architecture aimed at ensuring long-term peace and security. Hajiyev expressed optimism for an inclusive South Caucasus, where cooperation among Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan continues to grow.
