Holding Prestigious Events Reflects Trust in Azerbaijan, Says Minister

Baku: Holding prestigious events in Azerbaijan is an indicator of the trust placed in the country, according to Jeyhun Bayramov, Azerbaijan's Minister of Foreign Affairs. The minister expressed this sentiment while discussing the significance of Azerbaijan being chosen as the host country for Climate Action Week.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Bayramov explained that the host country for Climate Action Week is selected through a competitive process based on rotation among the UN regions. Azerbaijan secured the opportunity to host this event through a competitive process within the Eastern European Group. Bayramov noted that this achievement signifies both the enhancement of Azerbaijan's international standing and the trust that the international community places in the country. Additionally, it provides a robust foundation for advancing the legacy of COP29.

Bayramov also highlighted the high-level participation in the event and discussed the upcoming COP31 Conference, which will be hosted by Trkiye. He mentioned that Trkiye is set to host COP31, described as the world's largest and most significant climate summit. Azerbaijan is maintaining close cooperation with the Turkish COP Presidency, offering its full support and actively participating in preparations for the upcoming COP31 in Antalya.
