ICESCO Director-General Highlights Funding Needed for Global Peace

Baku:Salim bin Mohammed AlMalik, Director-General of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), stated that a mere half a percent of global military expenditure could suffice to secure peace across the world. This assertion was made during a special Joint Session of the 3rd High-Level Meeting of International Organizations and the 6th Ministerial Meeting of the Baku Process, held on October 27.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, AlMalik stressed the importance of international cooperation extending beyond mere statements. He emphasized that cooperation becomes truly meaningful when commitments lead to tangible outcomes that positively impact people's daily lives.

AlMalik highlighted that the primary measure of success is the positive change that decisions bring to people's lives. He further noted that ICESCO's main objective is to rally efforts towards achieving more effective results in securing global peace.
