BAKU—The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has completed another visit to Armenian detainees held in Baku, as part of its ongoing efforts to monitor conditions and facilitate family communications.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Head of the Public Relations Department of the ICRC office in Baku, during the visits, representatives met privately with the detainees, allowing them to exchange family news. The ICRC’s mandate includes assessing the treatment and conditions of detainees and helping to ensure that they can maintain contact with their families. Details from these assessments, including any observations and recommendations, are confidentially shared only with the detaining authorities. The detainees include notable former officials from the Garabagh region, such as Arkadi Ghukasyan, Bako Sahakyan, and Arayik Harutyunyan, among others.
