From January 1, the sale of electric cars to Azerbaijan is exempt from VAT, reads the law “On amendments to the Tax Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan,” APA reports.

Until now, the import of electric cars was exempt from VAT. After that, along with the import of electric cars, the sale is exempt from VAT.

In addition, the import and sale of hybrid cars with a production date of 3 years and an engine capacity of no more than 2,500 cubic centimeters, as well as the import of second and third tier electric chargers for electric cars will be exempt from VAT for 3 years from January 1, 2022.
