Baku: Anacl¡udia Rossbach, Executive Director of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), emphasized the lack of focus on housing provision in the development sector during her remarks at an event titled 'Housing at the Center of Crisis Recovery and Reconstruction' at the World Urban Forum 13 (WUF13).

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Rossbach pointed out that there are significant inconsistencies in the allocation of funds for humanitarian and development purposes. She noted that humanitarian funding received by the United Nations, international NGOs, and other actors is not intended for housing provision but is specifically aimed at life-saving activities, emergency response, and related purposes.

Rossbach further explained that discussions with international financial institutions at the Forum revealed that housing provision occupies a very limited share in development banks' portfolios. This finding underscores the inadequate focus on housing provision within the development sector, a concern that Rossbach strongly emphasized during her address.
