Baku: In the first nine months of this year, a significant increase in the volume of associated gas transmitted from the ‘Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli’ (ACG) oil and gas field block to the State of Azerbaijan has been recorded. A total of 2.1 billion cubic meters of associated gas was delivered, primarily to the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR), via the Sangachal terminal and facilities at ‘Neft Dashlari.’ This marks a 16.7% increase compared to the same period last year, as reported by APA-Economics, citing BP’s report on its activities in Azerbaijan for the current year.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, BP’s document reveals that during the reporting period, an average of 8 million cubic meters of gas per day was supplied to SOCAR from ACG. The report also mentions that the remaining portion of the produced associated gas was reinjected into the reservoir to maintain pressure. Notably, a part of the associated gas produced in ACG is provided to SOCAR free of charge.

The ACG production sharing is structured with BP holding 30.37% as the operator, followed by AzACG (SOCAR) with 31.65%, MOL at 9.57%, Inpex at 9.31%, ExxonMobil at 6.79%, TPAO with 5.73%, Itochu at 3.65%, and ONGC Videsh Ltd. (OVL) with 2.92%.
