Baku:Indian Formula 2 racing driver Kush Maini set the fastest time in the opening practice session of Round 12 for ART Grand Prix in Baku.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Maini led from the start and secured the quickest lap with a time of 1:56.532, finishing ahead of other title contenders Alexander Dunne and Nikola Tsolov.

Dunne followed closely in second place, just 0.2 seconds behind Maini. Tsolov and Colton Herta showed strong performances with late improvements, while Min¬ rounded out the top five. The top ten was completed by Laurens van Hoepen, Stenshorne, Ritomo Miyata, and Mari Boya.

The Formula 2 grid is now preparing for a Qualifying double-header scheduled for later on Thursday. The first session, starting at 14:00 local time, will determine the grid for the Sprint and Feature Race 1, while the second session at 14:30 will set the grid for Feature Race 2.
