Indian Participant Highlights the Importance of Urban Planning at UN World Urban Forum

Baku: An Indian participant at the 13th Session of the UN World Urban Forum (WUF13), Celine d'Cruz, has emphasized the critical need for countries to acquire essential knowledge in urban planning. Celine d'Cruz, a founding member of the Slum Dwellers International (SDI) organization, shared insights on the significance of informed urban development during the event.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Celine d'Cruz, who hails from Mumbai, India, highlighted the challenges faced by the city's 6 million slum residents, particularly concerning infrastructure. She stressed that errors in construction processes can lead to severe implications, underlining WUF's powerful message on the necessity of informed city building.

Celine d'Cruz also remarked on the strong historical ties between India and Azerbaijan, expressing that both countries maintain good relations. Her comments during the forum serve as a reminder of the shared challenges and opportunities in urban development globally.
