Baku: During the first half of this year, the Interior Ministry reported the neutralization of 288 criminal groups, including 104 involved in serious and especially serious crimes, as part of efforts to combat organized crime, APA reports. This information was disclosed at the Ministry of Internal Affairs' Board meeting, which focused on reviewing the results of operational and service activities for the first six months of 2026 and setting future tasks.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the meeting highlighted that 70 individuals faced criminal charges for the illegal possession and carrying of firearms. Additionally, law enforcement agencies discovered 3,088 firearms, 337 grenades, and over 99,000 rounds of ammunition during their operations.
