Baku: The next feature in AZERTAC's 'If I Were a Tourist' column turns its spotlight on the International Mugham Center in Baku, where mugham meets architecture.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the International Mugham Center is recognized as one of the landmark symbols of Baku's cultural life and is among the favored tourist destinations. It stands out with its contemporary architectural style and extensive activity, designed to promote Azerbaijan's national musical heritage.

This unique building, resembling the parts of the tar, an ancient Azerbaijani musical instrument, features a 350-seat concert hall, a museum, and a recording studio. The museum showcases busts of renowned Azerbaijani mugham masters and displays national musical instruments, highlighting the pearls of Azerbaijani musical heritage.

The Center is one of the flagship projects established at the initiative of Mehriban Aliyeva, Azerbaijan's First Vice-President and President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. Under her supervision, consistent steps are undertaken to preserve and develop the art of mugham in the country and promote it globally.
