Baku: An international online exhibition titled 'Friendship on the Silk Road' was jointly organized by the Union of Artists of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, the Union of Artists of Azerbaijan, and the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Azerbaijan. This event marked the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, showcasing the works of 18 professional artists from both countries.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the exhibition highlighted the shared cultural and historical heritage shaped by the Great Silk Road through contemporary artistic interpretations. The artworks depicted the common civilizational space and cultural-spiritual legacy of the Azerbaijani and Uzbek peoples. A catalogue accompanying the exhibition included a foreword by Gunay Afandiyeva, a member of the Milli Majlis and Cultural Ambassador of Uzbekistan, who emphasized the significance of this joint cultural initiative in strengthening humanitarian cooperation and artistic dialogue between the two nations.

The event was further endorsed by Bahrom Ashrafkhanov, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Azerbaijan. He described the project as a symbol of the deep historical, cultural, and spiritual connections between the two countries, underscoring the strategic partnership and mutual respect that have developed over three decades of diplomatic relations.

The exhibition was curated by Ulvia Ghamzayeva from Azerbaijan and Khurshed Khalilov from Uzbekistan, with the catalogue designed by Araz Khudiyev. The 'Friendship on the Silk Road' project aims to be a long-term cultural initiative, with the current exhibition being its inaugural presentation.
