Baku: A person wanted on an international search has been extradited to Azerbaijan, the Press Service of the Prosecutor General's Office told APA.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Prosecutor General's Office's request for the extradition of Azerbaijani citizen Zameddin Bafadar oglu Ibrahimov was granted by the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation. This action was in accordance with the requirements outlined in the Convention on Legal Assistance and Legal Relations in Civil, Family, and Criminal Matters dated October 7, 2002.
Within the criminal case under preliminary investigation by the Sumgait Military Prosecutor's Office, reasonable suspicions were established indicating that Zameddin Ibrahimov had committed fraud. Consequently, a decision was made to charge him as an accused person. As Ibrahimov fled and went into hiding from the investigation, he was placed on an international wanted list.
Zameddin Ibrahimov was detained in the territory of the Russian Federation and subsequently brought to Azerbaijan under the escort of a special convoy from the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice.
