Baku: Speaker of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan Sahiba Gafarova met with Tulia Ackson, President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), during her visit to Azerbaijan for the 13th Global Baku Forum. The meeting focused on the significance of the forum as a vital platform for international dialogue.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Sahiba Gafarova emphasized Azerbaijan's efforts to foster peace and dialogue amid ongoing regional and international tensions. She noted that the Global Baku Forum plays a crucial role in addressing issues that concern the global community.
IPU President Tulia Ackson echoed the importance of the forum as an international platform, commending President Ilham Aliyev for his initiatives in the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia. She remarked that these efforts serve as a model for conflict resolution between nations.
The meeting further delved into matters of international cooperation, with the IPU President applauding the Azerbaijani Parliament's active engagement in the Inter-Parliamentary Union and the strong ties between the organization and Azerbaijan's legislative body.
