Iran continues to smuggle unknown cargos to Karabakh: 58 trucks passed to Khankandi over the last month

Iran continues to smuggle unknown cargos into Azerbaijani territories which are under the temporary control of Russian peacekeepers, APA reports.

In recent days, new facts have emerged confirming the illegal actions of the neighbouring country.

It turned out that, a large number of Iranian trucks illegally entered our territories, which are under the temporary control of Russian peacekeepers, without the permission of official Baku in August of the current year.

From July 11 to August 8, 35 Iranian trucks (4 cargo trucks, 31 petrol trucks) crossed the Lachin corridor in a total of 70 times and returned.

The dates of other illegal flights of Iranian cars to the territory of Azerbaijan are also known – 11, 14, 16, 17, 20, 21, 27, 28, 29, 31 July, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 August.

On August 11, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry invited the Ambassador of Iran, Seyid Abbas Mousavi, and official Baku expressed concern about the actions of the neighboring country against Azerbaijan.

“On August 11, 2021, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to our country was invited to the Foreign Ministry. During the meeting, the ambassador’s attention was drawn to the undesirable facts revealed in connection with the illegal passage of trucks of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Karabakh, a note was sent to the opposite side.

The note expresses our dissatisfaction with the recent entry of various vehicles belonging to the friendly Islamic Republic of Iran into the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan without the permission of official Baku.

Our dissatisfaction, which was conveyed to the Iranian side some time ago, was again expressed to the Iranian ambassador during the meeting.

During the meeting, it was noted that the new Iranian administration will take practical steps in the spirit of close friendship and partnership between the two countries to put an end to such fears and contradictions, ”the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

However, despite the fact that a month has passed since the transfer of the protest note to the Iranian side, Iran continues to illegally send trucks to the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan, despite strong protests from Baku. There are photographs and other facts confirming this.

It turned out that from August 11 to September 10, Iran smuggled 58 trucks to Khankendi. Most of the cars had fuels and lubricants. 55 cars returned.

It is also known that Iranians and Armenians used different tricks during illegal flights to Karabakh. It was established that when approaching the temporary control zone of the Russian peacekeepers, the license plates of the cars change to Armenian ones. The goal is to hide the number of Iranian vehicles heading to Khankendi.

It should be noted that official Baku has irrefutable facts confirming that Iran is smuggling unknown cargo into the territory of Azerbaijan, which is under the temporary control of Russian peacekeepers. Despite the harsh reaction of Baku and the harsh note of protest, Iran continues its illegal actions.

Iran’s actions like this are not new. There are many facts confirming the actions of a country that calls itself a neighbor during the 30 years of occupation of the territories of Azerbaijan.

Influential world media, including The Economist, once wrote that during the years of occupation, the Iranians actively bought everything that Armenian vandals destroyed in Karabakh – stones, bricks, roofs, pipes and even household items of Azerbaijanis.

If today the Iranians are transporting fuels and lubricants to Karabakh while the Lachin corridor is in our hands, does this mean that during the war, Armenian tanks equipped with Iranian fuel?

Another notable point is that Iran continues and increases its political support to Armenia.

In early August this year, the Iranian Ambassador to Armenia, Abbas Badakhshan Zokhuri, unnecessarily visited the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. The Iranian Ambassador, accompanied by the generals of the Armenian army who held Azerbaijani lands under occupation for 30 years and are still hostile towards the Turkic-Muslim people, expressed concern over the events on the Azerbaijani-Armenian border and expressed condolences to the families of Armenian soldiers who died in recent clashes … The ambassador of the country, who calls himself a diplomat, a representative of the country, declaring at every step that she is a friend of Azerbaijan, together with the Armenian military, watched the positions of the Azerbaijani army from the trench with binoculars. There is hardly any other similar shameful fact in the history of diplomacy.

At the same time, we remember well the statement of Iranian officials after the Second Karabakh War: “The inviolability of the borders of Armenia is our“ red line ”.

The people of Azerbaijan also remember well the dispatch of military cargo and military equipment from Iran to Armenia during the Patriotic War. While Tehran is reluctant to admit it, it constantly finds itself in a helpless position in the face of concrete facts and prevalent cadres.

Russian peacekeepers temporarily serving in the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan also bear considerable responsibility for what is happening today. Because the Iranians and Armenians are committing these illegal actions in front of their eyes. It follows that either the Russian peacekeepers cannot control the Lachin corridor, or they deliberately allow the transport of unknown cargoes to Karabakh in Iranian vehicles, and all this happens with their consent.

The likelihood is not small that the conditions for this were created by Russian peacekeepers for a certain amount.

The Azerbaijani side sees everything and knows about everything that is happening. Everything is documented and appropriate conclusions are drawn. Both the Russian peacekeepers and the Iranian side must take this into account. Gone are the days when an Iranian company turned the Upper Govhar Agha mosque in Shusha into a Persian mosque under the guise of repairs, and official Tehran shamelessly denied this in the face of Azerbaijani protests.

Today Azerbaijan sees everything and controls everything.

It is interesting how Iran will explain the presented facts and what will answer the Azerbaijani people.
