Tehran: The Central Bank of Iran (CBI) has released the official exchange rates for foreign currencies as of November 22.
According to Trend News Agency, the value of 27 currencies increased, while 17 currencies experienced a decline compared to November 20.
The official exchange rate for the US dollar stands at 602,199 rials, while the euro is valued at 692,825 rials. Notably, the euro has seen a slight decrease from its previous value of 694,798 rials on November 20. Among other currencies, the British pound is now priced at 788,737 rials, and the Swiss franc is valued at 744,546 rials.
The CBI utilizes the SANA system for currency exchange offices, where the euro is priced at 849,554 rials and the US dollar at 738,426 rials. Another system, NIMA, represents a framework for managing foreign currency earned through exports. Under NIMA, the euro’s value is 824,809 rials, and the US dollar is priced at 716,918 rials.
In contrast, the black market reflects significantly higher rates, with the US dollar trading at approximately 1.1-1.13 million rials and the euro at 1.27-1.30 million rials. This discrepancy highlights the volatility and challenges within Iran’s currency exchange landscape.
