Baku: In a recent phone call, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, reached out to President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, to address recent events impacting both nations. The conversation highlighted condolences and the exploration of future joint economic endeavors.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, President Pezeshkian expressed his gratitude towards President Aliyev for visiting the Iranian Embassy in Azerbaijan. This visit was in light of the passing of Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei, and the loss of numerous civilians. President Pezeshkian appreciated Aliyev's intention to extend humanitarian aid to Iran during this difficult period.
The Iranian President assured President Aliyev that the airstrike incident on Nakhchivan bore no relation to Iran and promised a thorough investigation. President Aliyev reiterated his condolences for the loss of life in Iran and emphasized the necessity of investigating the Nakhchivan incident.
