Horadiz: An Iranian citizen was detained while attempting to smuggle narcotic drugs into Azerbaijan, according to information from the Press Center of the State Border Service provided to APA. The individual was identified as Huseyn Novruz Aghapur, who was born in 1975.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, measures to ensure the reliable protection of Azerbaijan's state border, as well as to combat smuggling and the illegal trafficking of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, and their precursors, are being successfully continued. These efforts have been particularly focused in the service area of the Horadiz border detachment of the Border Troops of the State Border Service.

During operational and military measures carried out in this area, authorities detained Aghapur as he attempted to smuggle 7 kilograms 490 grams of marijuana and 1,810 Methadone M-40 tablets, which contain psychotropic substances, into the Republic of Azerbaijan. The case is currently under ongoing operational and investigative measures to further examine and address the smuggling attempt.
