Iranian President and Ethiopian Prime Minister Emphasize BRICS’ Role in Addressing Global Inequalities


KAZAN: The Iranian President, Masoud Pezeshkian, and Ethiopian Prime Minister, Abiy Ahmed Ali, highlighted the critical role of BRICS in confronting regional and international inequalities during their meeting. The discussion underscored BRICS’ potential as a reformative force in addressing global issues, as reported by Trend News Agency.

According to Trend News Agency, the meeting took place in Kazan, where both leaders expressed the significance of BRICS in fostering equitable development across the globe. The dialogue also touched upon bilateral relations between Iran and Ethiopia, indicating a mutual interest in strengthening ties within the framework of the intergovernmental organization.

BRICS, formed in 2006, consists of Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, with additional members including Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia. Russia assumed the chairmanship of BRICS on January 1, 2024. The upcoming BRICS summit, scheduled to be held in Kazan from October 22 to October 24, is
expected to further explore the bloc’s influence on regional and international matters.
