Iranian, Venezuelan presidents sign 20-year document on cooperation

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and his visiting Venezuelan counterpart Nicolas Maduro signed a 20-year document on comprehensive strategic cooperation, according to IRNA.

The document focuses on petrochemical, oil, economic, tourism, cultural, and political cooperation.

After signing the document on comprehensive cooperation, the two presidents attended a joint press briefing.

Earlier, Maduro was welcomed by the Iranian president at Saadabad cultural complex, north Tehran.

Maduro arrived in Iran on Friday (June 10) after his visit to Turkey. This is his second visit to Tehran; the first one took place about six years ago.

At his Friday interview with the Iranian Spanish TV channel Hispan TV, Maduro said that his meeting with President Raisi would review plans and strategies for the next 20 years.

The Venezuelan president is visiting Tehran at the invitation of his Iranian counterpart.
