Tehran: The Araz Free Economic Zone in East Azerbaijan Province in northwestern Iran holds significant strategic importance due to its location at the crossroads of Azerbaijan, the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, and Armenia. This was highlighted by Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi during his visit to the Araz Economic Zone’s pavilion at an exhibition within the conference “Opportunities and Investment Prospects of Free and Trade Zones of Iran.”

According to Trend News Agency, Araghchi emphasized the Araz zone as one of Iran’s essential trade zones, underscoring the need for increased attention and development. The Araz Free Trade Zone is strategically situated on the banks of the Araz River, spanning an area of 51,000 hectares. It hosts 150 production and industrial enterprises, contributing to its economic vitality. Moreover, the zone is home to the largest greenhouse in Iran, covering 7,000 square meters, which highlights its agricultural significance.
