Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister: Official Baghdad has always supported Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity

Charge d’affaires of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Iraq Nasir Mammadov has met with Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein.

 

The meeting discussed the current situation and prospects for cooperation between the two countries.

 

Nasir Mammadov emphasized that improvement and construction projects had begun in the region after the Azerbaijani Army liberated Karabakh from occupation under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev.

 

The two also discussed creation of a business council, expansion of economic and trade relations, and possibility for Iraqi students to study in Azerbaijan.

 

They also touched on the promotion of the “Made in Azerbaijan” brand, the implementation of “Electronic government”, construction and restoration projects.

 

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iraq Fuad Hussein underlined that the development of relations with Azerbaijan is a political priority for official Baghdad. He noted that Iraq had always supported the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and cooperated with Azerbaijan within the international organizations, including the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Non-Aligned Movement.
