Baku: The 13th Global Baku Forum unfolded amidst a challenging phase in international relations, marked by ongoing conflicts especially in the Middle East and nearby regions. In this context, the forum's theme, "building bridges during a time of transition in the international system," was highlighted by Ismail Serageldin, Co-Chair of the Nizami Ganjavi International Center, in remarks to AZERTAC.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Serageldin accentuated the significance of President Ilham Aliyev's address during the forum's opening session, which emphasized the necessity for countries to collaborate and respect established rules to ensure the international system's effective functioning. Serageldin noted that President Aliyev has consistently adhered to international law in reestablishing Azerbaijan's territorial integrity, and ongoing negotiations with Armenia toward a peace agreement are a crucial step for consolidating regional stability.
Serageldin also pointed out that the Global Baku Forum serves as an international platform for diverse viewpoints, promoting tolerance, pluralism, and dialogue. The exchanges among experienced politicians and experts from different countries are expected to generate valuable ideas for the future.
