Israel remains against Iran nuclear deal

Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid said during a call with French President Emmanuel Macron that Israel’s position on the Iran nuclear deal remains unchanged, as the country vowed to take action to prevent it, APA reports citing The Times.

Lapid noted that the deal that is currently being negotiated goes beyond the limits of the original deal from 2015.

Israel “will continue to do everything to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear capabilities,” the prime minister remarked.

Earlier today, the country’s Defense Minister Benny Gantz said that Israel does not rule out an armed attack on Iran if it perceives the need for it. Gantz echoed the prime minister’s sentiment on the deal, saying the deal has “a lot of holes.”
