It happened: the head of the Central Bank Elman Rustamov was fired

On April 11, the Parliamentary Committee on Economic Policy, Industry and Entrepreneurship approved the proposal of the President of Azerbaijan on the dismissal of Elman Rustamov from the post of head of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, and recommended that this issue be discussed at a meeting of the Milli Majlis.

This means that Rustamov is leaving the post of head of the CBA board, which he held for 27 years.

At the same time, the parliamentary committee supported the president’s proposal to appoint Taleh Kazimov as a member of the CBA board, who, apparently, will become the new head of this department.

Currently, Kazymov holds the position of head of the board and general director of PASA Bank OJSC.

According to the legislation, the chairman of the CBA is appointed by the president of the country from the members of the board of the structure.
