Baku: Sergio Mattarella, the President of the Italian Republic, has extended his sincere congratulations to the people of Azerbaijan on the occasion of their national holiday. President Mattarella expressed his greetings on behalf of the people of Italy and himself, emphasizing the strong and fruitful cooperation between Italy and Azerbaijan.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, President Mattarella highlighted the numerous instances of friendship and collaboration between the two nations, particularly in the energy sector. He noted that the strategic partnership between Baku and Rome has developed steadily over recent years, covering various areas of mutual interest.

President Mattarella also reaffirmed Italy's commitment to dialogue and peaceful cooperation among states to address the complex challenges of the international situation. He emphasized Italy's support for initiatives promoting stability, good-neighborly relations, and mutual trust between Azerbaijan, the European Union, and regional countries.

In his message, President Mattarella fondly recalled his last visit to Azerbaijan and past meetings with Azerbaijani leaders. He concluded by wishing well-being and prosperity to the President of Azerbaijan, his family, and the people of Azerbaijan.
