Baku: Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov expressed his concerns over the perceived double standards of Western countries regarding separatism in Azerbaijan during a press conference on the results of the year, APA reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Bayramov highlighted the longstanding politicization of humanitarian issues against Azerbaijan, noting that these tactics have been used for many years. In 2023, following anti-terror operations, Azerbaijan faced the suspension of its delegation's participation in the Council of Europe, attributed to its independent and principled stance.

Bayramov pointed out the differing approach taken by European countries towards separatism in other regions such as Ukraine and Moldova. In contrast, he noted the granting of a 10-year travel visa by European capitals to David Babayan, referred to as the 'foreign minister' of a fictitious regime. Bayramov questioned the lack of European protest against actions taken against religious figures or diaspora representatives in neighboring countries, emphasizing Azerbaijan's non-interference in the internal affairs of other nations. He also mentioned the evolving global processes and how many states, including the United States, have criticized European countries in the 2025 Human Rights Report.
