Jeyhun Bayramov Discusses Strategic Partnership with U.S. Senator Steve Daines

Baku: Azerbaijan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov has met with U.S. Senator Steve Daines, a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, who is visiting the country, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry told APA. The meeting included an exchange of views on the current state and prospects of the Azerbaijan-U.S. strategic partnership, focusing on political and economic cooperation, energy security, and regional connectivity projects.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the parties emphasized the importance of developing high-level contacts and political dialogue between the two countries to expand mutually beneficial cooperation. Discussions highlighted Azerbaijan's growing role as a reliable partner in energy security, transport, and logistics, with initiatives aimed at developing the Middle Corridor and East-West transport routes.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov noted Azerbaijan's dynamic cooperation with Central Asian countries and the new opportunities offered by the C6 cooperation format. He emphasized Azerbaijan's emergence as a key transport and trade hub in Eurasia, facilitated by enhanced East-West connectivity across the Caspian Sea and the development of infrastructure at the Alat International Sea Trade Port.

The parties reviewed the current situation in the South Caucasus post-conflict, focusing on the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization process and the peace agenda. Detailed information was provided about restoration efforts in Azerbaijan's liberated territories and the opportunities created by reopening transport and communication routes for regional cooperation and economic integration.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on other regional and international issues of mutual interest.
