Joint Political Delegation Visits Key Azerbaijani Cities to Enhance Dialogue


Khankendi: Traditions of robust political dialogue between parties participating in political processes are deepening. A joint visit of representatives of political parties operating in the country, well-known political scientists and political observers, as well as heads of Internet TV channels, newspaper editors, and other journalists, was organized on March 6 to the cities of Khankendi, Asgaran, and Khojaly.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the visit was initiated by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev as part of ongoing efforts to enhance the political dialogue environment in the country. The initiative aims to establish reliable cooperation in political processes for the sake of national interests and statehood. To build constructive cooperation, joint visits to territories liberated from occupation are seen as crucial for political party leaders. Previous visits have taken place to Aghdam, Shusha (twice), and Zangilan, enriching the experience related to political dialogue and fostering robust and businesslike relations.



The fifth joint visit, organized by the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan, included stops in Khankendi, Khojaly, and Asgaran. Participants visited the Asgaran fortress complex, received extensive information about it, and familiarized themselves with the Khojaly Genocide Memorial and other significant sites. They also observed restoration efforts of private houses and infrastructure in the village of Ballija in Khojaly.



The delegation visited Victory Square in Khankendi, where they witnessed the site of a military parade marking the third anniversary of the Victory in the Patriotic War, held on November 8, 2023. Participants shared their impressions in interviews with press representatives. Adalat Valiyev, Head of the Presidential Administration’s Department for Relations with Political Parties and Legislative Authority, discussed the strategic importance of the solidarity environment promoted by President Aliyev and highlighted efforts made in this area.



Valiyev described the Victory achieved in the 44-day Patriotic War as a source of pride for Azerbaijanis globally. He noted that the gathering of all major political parties at Victory Square in Khankendi is a significant event in Azerbaijan’s political history. He emphasized that national interests and statehood are the unifying factors for patriotic forces, as demonstrated during the war.



During the visit, the delegation also explored the economic and tourism potential of Khankendi, Khojaly, and Asgaran.
