Baku: The Azerbaijani Ministry of Energy held an event on the establishment and approval of the charter of the Green Corridor Union LLC between AzerEnergy OJSC, Kazakhstan Electric Grid Operating Company, and National Electric Grids of Uzbekistan OJSC for the implementation of the Azerbaijan-Central Asia Green Energy Corridor project, the Ministry told APA.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Deputy Energy Minister Elnur Soltanov highlighted the significance of the Agreement on Strategic Partnership in the field of development and transmission of green energy between the governments of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the Republic of Uzbekistan. This agreement was signed by the Heads of State within the framework of the COP29, as well as the Implementation Program between the three countries and the Ministries of Energy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the relevant project. The joint venture, established as Green Corridor Union LLC, will operate in Baku. This initiative aims to enhance energy security, contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals, and advance the green energy agenda. Discussions were also held on the operations of the Joint Venture during the meeting.

Subsequently, a signing ceremony was conducted for the document establishing the Green Corridor Union LLC. This document was signed by Vice-President of Azerenergy OJSC Ziyaddin Guliyev, Head of the Department of Kazakhstan Electric Network Operating Company Saltanat Shunayeva, and Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Electric Network of Uzbekistan Feruz Kurbonov. It was also agreed that Farhad Mammadov will be appointed as the Head (General Director) of the Green Corridor Union LLC.
