Baku: The 15th European TeamGym Championships concluded its junior mixed team event with Iceland’s team emerging victorious, clinching the gold with a remarkable score of 51.600 points.
According to Trend News Agency, the event, hosted for the first time in Baku, Azerbaijan, witnessed a fierce competition among five junior teams. The Icelandic team outperformed their rivals with a score that edged out Sweden’s team, which secured the silver medal with 51.400 points. The team from the United Kingdom rounded out the top three, earning the bronze with a score of 50.800 points.
The championships featured a total of 498 athletes from 14 countries, including 268 adults and 230 juniors. The competition has been a significant event in the TeamGym calendar and highlighted the growing popularity and talent in this sport across Europe. The event is set to conclude on October 19, with more results expected in the coming days.
