Brussels: Azerbaijan is a valued and reliable energy partner for the European Union. There is clear scope to deepen our cooperation, particularly in trade, transport, and digital areas,' said Kaja Kallas, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Kaja Kallas also highlighted the strategic importance of enhancing connectivity between the EU, the South Caucasus, and Central Asia. She noted that the ongoing peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia presents a historic opportunity that should be nurtured. Kallas stressed the importance of maintaining the momentum in this peace process.
Kallas further elaborated on the EU's commitment to supporting the peace initiative, stating that the EU has various tools to aid the process. This includes supporting confidence-building measures and demining efforts, with the EU already being a significant donor in these areas.
