Karabakh and East Zangezur Integrated into Azerbaijan’s Water Balance

Zangilan: Karabakh and East Zangezur are now being fully integrated into Azerbaijan's overall water balance, as approximately 2 billion cubic meters of water resources are available in these regions. Emin Huseynov, the Special Representative of the President of Azerbaijan in the Aghdam, Fuzuli, and Khojavand districts, announced this development during a regional meeting in Zangilan. The meeting was dedicated to discussing the 'State Program on the Development of Production and Processing Sectors of Agricultural, Fisheries, and Aquaculture Products in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2026-2030.'

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Huseynov highlighted that the main advantage of these water reserves is that they are primarily sourced from domestic origins. He emphasized that creating a reliable water supply to harness the agricultural potential of Karabakh and East Zangezur is a key priority. Huseynov remarked on the state's focus on water resources and agriculture through ongoing projects.

The meeting noted that comprehensive measures have been implemented to establish and develop modern water management infrastructure in these territories, with work still in progress.
