BAKU — Karabakh University, inaugurated in 2023, has marked a successful first student enrollment for the 2024-2025 academic year, filling nearly all available undergraduate spots, Trend reports.
According to Trend News Agency, the State Examination Center’s admission plan was almost fully met with a total of 980 students admitted across various specialized fields. The university offers a range of courses categorized into five groups, each attracting numerous applicants. The first group, focusing on technical and engineering programs like mathematics teaching, civil, and computer engineering, admitted 290 students with an impressive highest admission score of 659.9 in mathematics teaching. Notably, an Olympiad winner was admitted to electrical and electronics engineering without the usual competitive process.
In the business and economics-focused second group, 330 students secured spots, with finance drawing the highest score of 641.7 among the seven specialties. The law and humanities-oriented third group also saw 330 students admitted, achieving the highest score of 683.8 in jurisprudence. The fourth group admitted 30 students into psychology, and the fifth group, assessing special abilities in arts, admitted 124 students in areas such as music teaching and design.
Overall, the average admission score stood at 467.6, highlighting the competitive nature of the admission process. The university’s expansive program offerings include 27 bachelor’s specialties, catering to a wide array of academic interests and ensuring a robust start for this new educational institution in Azerbaijan.
