Astana: Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has emphasized the need for intensified global efforts toward nuclear disarmament and a full cessation of nuclear testing.
According to Trend News Agency, President Tokayev expressed his views on his official page on X, marking the International Day against Nuclear Tests. He highlighted the historical significance of the day, which was established by the United Nations General Assembly following Kazakhstan's initiative. The President reflected on the painful legacy of nuclear explosions that Kazakhstan's people endured for many years, underscoring that such tragedies should never be repeated.
President Tokayev also stressed the importance of reinforcing peace, fostering international cooperation, and striving for a comprehensive ban on nuclear tests. He affirmed that peace and security are paramount values that unite humanity, urging global solidarity in pursuit of these goals.
