Astana: President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Changpeng Zhao, founder of Binance, met to explore potential avenues for cooperation during the Digital Bridge 2025 international forum. The discussion emphasized the importance of collaboration in the rapidly evolving cryptocurrency sector.
According to Trend News Agency, President Tokayev commended Changpeng Zhao for his significant contributions to the global cryptocurrency industry and the fintech ecosystem. The partnership between Kazakhstan and Binance began in 2022 when a memorandum was signed to create a regional crypto industry hub in Kazakhstan, anchored by Binance Lab.
Since the establishment of this hub, Kazakhstan has seen a rising number of initiatives and projects in blockchain and cryptocurrency technologies. These developments underscore the country’s commitment to advancing its digital economy.
The Digital Bridge 2025 forum, taking place in Kazakhstan’s capital, Astana, focuses on digitalization, innovative technologies, and international cooperation under the theme ‘Digital transformation for sustainable development’. The event is organized by the Ministry of Digital Development of Kazakhstan and the International Union of Information Technologies and is attended by IT leaders from over 80 countries, as well as representatives from international organizations and think tanks.
